Butler, Inc. was founded by Michael Tasner, Jr., a recent
graduate of Bradley University. Michael was an Entrepreneurship
major during his four years in college. He also had the privilege
of working as a tour guide for the school. As he gave tours
to campus students and their parents, it always seemed like
he was thinking of ways to solve their problems.
First
was Storage Butler, a company that takes the hassle out of
moving back and forth to college. Going to a college out of
state, it was a huge hassle to move stuff back and forth.
He simply stored his items in a storage unit, and thus Storage
Butler began.
RatemyCollegeDorm.com was designed to help give free, unbiased
information to prospective college students and their families.
As a tour guide, Michael was always getting hundreds of questions
about the dorm rooms, and so RatemyCollegeDorm.com was born.
Lastly, RatemyTeamMember.com began in response to the need
for information about potential team members for group projects.
Being in over 20 different groups in college can sometimes
be a hassle if you don't have the best group members. One
evening at a dinner event, two professors (Ms. Pape and Dr.
Fry) were speaking about all the different problems many of
their classroom groups were having. Out of the blue, Ms. Pape
suggested that there should be a rating site for team members.
That evening, RatemyTeamMember.com was registered and the
plans begun.
These Web sites were created to help college students, but
they will also benefit another group of people- children with
terminal illnesses. Michael has vowed to donate all advertising
profits from RatemyCollegeDorm.com and RatemyTeamMember.com
to the Make-A-Wish-Foundation.
